2009/10
Change is an evitable process of life.  In the world of the NBA, just a little bit of change can make a world of difference.  But when changes come wholesale as the Spurs have made this season, change can be profound.  This season, the Spurs lineup will not feature fan favorite Bruce Bowen (38 years old), or Kurt Thomas (pushing 38) and Fabricio Oberto (an old 34 years old) but will instead feature 29-year old Richard Jefferson, 20-year old Rookie DeJuan Blair, 34-year old Antonio McDyesss and 36-year old Theo Ratlliff surrounding the returning Spurs team of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, Roger mason, George Hill, Matt Bonner, Ime Udoka and the rest of the team.  The team not only became one of the favored teams in the West along with the Lakers to take home the trophy this season.

2008/09
The Spurs entered the 2008-2009 season with a great amount optimism.  Looking  to rebuild and revamp their team in an effort to get closer towards NBA the Finals.  When Manu Ginobili went down with an ankle injury the team had to depend on Tony Parker and Tim Duncan to get them to the championships.  Even with some consistent and effective play from some of the role players (Mason, Hill, Bonner) the team was knocked out by the Dallas Mavericks in the first round.

2007/08
There was major movement within the NBA in 07/08 but the Spurs pretty much stayed pat as teams in the East and the West geared up to take on the World Champs.  The biggest moves were in the East as the Boston Celtics acquired both Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. In the West, the Lakers took a step by picking up Pau Gasol as the former Laker Shaquille O’Neal moved to the land of the Sun and played ball for Phoenix.  The Spurs ended the season at 55-26, third in the Western Conference and took out the Phoenix Suns in 5-games in the first round of the Playoffs.  In the second round, the Spurs met a much tougher New Orleans Hornets team featuring standout PG Chris Paul who took his team to game 7 against the Spurs but fell to the experienced Spurs.  The Spurs were then eliminated by the Los Angeles Lakers after 5-games.  The Lakers went on to win the championship.
